TYCTTLD partners with CLC, Upstart

We're very excited that Take Your Child to the Library Day and author/illustrator Nancy Elizabeth Wallace have teamed up with the Connecticut Library Consortium and Highsmith/Upstart to offer a list of promotional items for libraries to use in promotion of our national day of celebration!  From a grassroots effort in 2012, we've grown to a national campaign with many libraries and families participating. Hi, everyone,

Take Your Child to the Library Day is working busily on a number of things for our second year. We should have announcements soon.

In the meantime, we are beginning our 2013 participation list. If you are planning to join Take Your Child to the Library Day in 2013, please leave us a comment and we will add you to the participation list.

Take Your Child to the Library 2012 Statistics

We're thrilled to report the results of the survey of the First Take Your Child to the Library Day

99 Libraries or library systems answered the survey (over 130 libraries participated)
9 states and 1 Canadian province answered the survey (so this is a partial representation)
15,469 people participated in Take Your Child Day
8,466 items were checked out
215 programs were held
7891 people attended programs

Pretty impressive, everyone! More details throughout the year including the list of programs.

Take Your Child to the Library Day 2013

Our second annual Take Your Child to the Library Day will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013. In case of inclement weather, plan to submit statistics from any Saturday, or any day, in February 2013.

Last year 17 states and one Canadian province participated. We'd love to add your library to our list. Please contact us with questions, comments, or if your library plans to participate in 2013.
